Fragments of Home
Sometimes in life, events unfold that are beyond our control - unwanted, unexpected, and irreversible. This project tells the story of an Iranian refugee who, driven by a desire to learn, explore, and grow, she left her homeland with the hope of returning. But return became impossible. A warning from the authorities in Iran made it clear: what began as an educational trip to attend a workshop in a different country, made her a target for the Iranian government, and placed her life and liberty at risk. Going back meant persecution.
Faced with a life-altering decision, she chose to seek asylum. What she carried with her was not much - just a backpack, a camera, and a few small objects: quiet reminders of home, family, and friendship. Yet within her, she carried something more enduring - hope.
This body of work is both a document and an offering. It explores the emotional landscape of exile: the grief of forced departure, the uncertainty of in-between spaces, and the strength required to rebuild. Through photography and video, I trace this journey - not only of physical migration, but of psychological transformation.
“Fragments of Home” is a deeply personal story, yet its themes resonate far beyond the journey of one woman. It speaks to loss, hope, resilience, and the quiet strength of community. Through adversity, she discovered solidarity and support. The community that once lifted her up empowered her to uplift others - working alongside fellow refugees, raising awareness, and helping to forge new spaces of connection and belonging.
This work invites viewers to pause, reflect, and reconsider what it truly means to be displaced - and to begin again.
Mementos
"Mementos" searches for lost memories from my early adulthood years until now. It's a reminder in a very particular way. Different objects can be fascinating and affect you at levels you could not expect. The objects I have photographed are from various times in my life, and they remind me of people who are no longer with me—friendships and relationships that have faded with time.
A bracelet from a past lover, wine glasses from a friend who has moved away, candles that once enlightened birthday parties. Some of them have a feeling of after-parties—moments where I have been left alone just after I was accompanied by my good friends and was enjoying myself. A moment of solitude just after the gatherings. Each object carries a piece of my history, a memento that connects different moments that shaped me.
All the photographs were taken in my house, reminding me of people who left something in my home, a piece of their existence. I tried to save these mementos forever and use unused things in my house.
Metamorphosis
In the realm of dwelling,
Where trees, tools, windows, doors,
Hinges, tiles, shoes, shirts,
People, and multitudes of souls,
Coalesce into the essence of home.
A metamorphosis unfolds,
Transmuting into a tranquil pond,
A sanctuary for the weary spirit.
Within its depths, emerges a persona,
A synthesis of humanity and being,
Shaping an identity, profound and profound.
From the recesses of a drawer,
Solutions materialize and thrive,
Harnessing the potency of home's embrace.
An enigma unfolds, an enigmatic dance,
A phenomenon that transpires within its walls,
Where the fabric of life is interwoven,
And the essence of existence transpires.
Pale Luster
When you look through time, there are certain elements of the past that transcend through
time, making their place in the present.
This shoot is about remembering one last time,
time, making their place in the present.
This shoot is about remembering one last time,
This shoot is about the celebration of loss.
The mirrors still reflect the lights, illuminate the house and mesmerize you,
The pinks and blues still adorn the walls of this place.
The pinks and the blues are soon going to be replaced with greys and browns, covered
with dust.
The house you see in these photos, does not exist anymore but we are going to remember it
the way she chooses, she is going to leave her mark here.
Before all is gone and there’s nothing left but shredded mental pictures of an object, a
person, and a place. All.
She has roamed around the house and has touched every surface, she has sung and danced
through the hallways, she has walked on top of tables and cabinets.
The house you see in these photos, has her print all over her now.

From Darkness to Light
This project was for a campaign intended to introduce the new physical location of Tawooskhaneh Fashion House after almost a year of absence and to introduce the new brand identity of Tawooskhaneh. In photographs and videos, the journey begins in darkness using fluorescent lamps and ends with very bright pictures containing flowers that represent spring, signifying the beginning.
